Attipas are unique, stylish, ergonomically supportive, non-slip baby shoes that were developed after 7 years of research at the Seoul University. Based on kinetic and plantar pressure physio dynamic testing of toddlers walking Attipas enables a steady and stable walking pattern.
Plantar pressure is the pressure field that exists between a foot and it’s supporting surface during everyday movement. Assessing this pressure requires taking measurements and indications of both foot and ankle function during gait and other functional activities. This is important because the foot and ankle provide both the necessary support and flexibility for weight bearing and weight shifting while performing these activities.
A force platform (An instrument that measures the ground reaction forces generated by a body standing on or moving across them), is the method most commonly used to assess the interaction of the foot and the supporting surface.
As noted below, plantar pressure changes not only with position but also with age.
The results of the tests clearly indicate that barefoot is best for development but as we all know, this is not always possible due to the natural and social circumstances. With this in mind, Attipas shoes for infants and toddler’s were created to mimic barefoot as closely as possible. While many existing shoes for infants and toddler’s are produced without consideration of the importance of these gait characteristics, Attipas takes into consideration that baby’s feet are not structured like adult feet. We have taken the time and expertise to craft a shoe that has enough space for toes, allowing for a fan-shaped form in accordance with shape differences of infants and toddlers which can provide stable walking and improve cognitive behaviour development. On top of that, we understand that a teething baby will have a tendency to chew on just about anything! So you can rest assured that if that happens to be their Attipas shoe, it is made of 100% non-toxic rubber and is also free of formaldehyde and all other hazardous materials and adhesives. The soles of our shoes are soft and flexible material, to enable smooth movement of the feet. In addition, Attipas has also achieved just the correct thickness of sole, dense enough to protect tiny feet without being so heavy that they interfere with an infant’s centre of gravity, thus encouraging balance and happy, confident walking!
